Food for Life Silver Served here Principles

 

Our customised course enables the catering team to be eligible for the Food for Life Silver Served Here award.  This is an independent verification that certifies meals served on site are of the very highest standard. The aim of the course is to refresh and consolidate knowledge and understanding of Soil Association ‘Food for Life’ accreditation.

Manual Handling (FAA Level 2 Award in Manual Handling: Principles & Practice)

 

This is an important course that will ensure the safety of employees on site preventing any risk of poor attendance and investing in a healthy workforce. The aim of the course is to prepare staff to carry out manual handling at work safely.

 

Health & Safety (FAA Level 2 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace)

 

This is a valuable course  in establishing  employees understand their individual and team responsibility to ensure that everyone works in a secure manner and maintains the environment in which they work is safe at all times. The aim of the course is to develop an awareness of health and safety at work. 

Food Safety (Level 2 Award in Food safety and Hygiene)

 

This course ensures that catering staff understand the importance of working in a clean and safe manner at all times. The aim of the course will be to develop food safety practice and knowledge to support individuals working in food handling environments.

Knife skills for kitchen staff

 

Knife skills are essential for all staff in kitchens as the safe and efficient handling of knives prevents accidents.  The safe storage of knives is vital especially in a secondary school environment. In addition, training will provide knife skills that can enhance the quality and appearance of food.

Fundamentals for Cook Supervisors

 

We understand that supervisors need encouragement and help in managing their teams. In a valuable skills exchange environment our customised course provides training with other people doing the same role. Attending the course Cook Supervisors will gain fundamental knowledge and procedures of safety and quality required to supervise a school kitchen as well as ways to bring the best out of the catering team.

HACCP  (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)

 

HACCP is an important management system operating within the kitchens.  Our customised course trains Cook Supervisors to be knowledgeable about the plan to ensure it is fully implemented within the site. The guidelines put in place ensures the safe management of food from its delivery to site to the end dish on the counter.  The aim of this course is to ensure the catering service is professionally managed.
