Natasha Allergy Research Foundation comes to Waltham Forest

On Wednesday 1 May 2024, Tanya Ednan-Laperouse, from the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation presented to Waltham Forest (WF) Catering cooks in the Town Hall, Foyer. Tanya is the mother of Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, who’s tragic death in 2016 made national news and begun to change the lives of those with food allergies. Natasha’s parents dedicated campaigning implemented Natasha’s Law in October 2021 which requires all food outlets to provide full ingredient lists with clear allergen ‘PPDS’ food. 

Tanya gave an emotional and powerful presentation to WF Catering cooks about Natasha’s story and their clinical trial to prevent and eradicate allergies. Tanya stressed the importance and praised the WF Catering staff for creating allergen friendly menus in schools to make children with allergies feel safe and inclusive. 

WF Catering are dedicated in providing an allergen friendly day twice a week where all dishes are free from 14 declarable allergens.  

On the day, the team also launched their allergen friendly aprons which all staff will wear on the counter at service time on Monday and Wednesday to remind children that its allergen friendly day.
